History
Saphoros Spa Essentials is a family-operated small business
dedicated to healthy skincare and natural beauty.
The business began in September 2005, offering bath & body
products, gift baskets, fragrances, and candles. After a few months, owner Donna
Standridge realized her true vision for the company and the direction that she
needed to take in order to reach that dream. Saphoros teamed up with one of the
most highly regarded dermatological laboratories in North America to develop a
line of professional Aromatherapy-based skincare and anti-aging products –
each dermatologist tested and approved, with clinically proven results. The new
signature line proved to be successful and in October 2006, the company expanded
again with the introduction of their own mineral makeup line, Lueur Jeune,
developed entirely by Saphoros’ owner and founder.
January 2007 brought exciting news for the growing company.
Only three short months after launching the Lueur Jeune mineral cosmetic line,
Saphoros was awarded "Best Mineral Foundation of 2006" by
StyleForFree.com, a well-respected internet web site dedicated to reviewing and
featuring the best in fashion, cosmetics and skincare.
Since that time, Saphoros has experienced tremendous growth
and opportunities, including invitations to participate in several
"swag" events, such as the 2007 Reebok Celebrity Heroes Baseball Game,
twice for the Oscars, Miss USA 2008,
the Emmy's, Miss Teen USA. In January 2009, Saphoros embarked on the
unique opportunity to be the sole cosmetic sponsor all of the Miss Bahamas
Universe pageants.
Saphoros is a cruelty-free company from ingredient sourcing to
final product, and is certified as Cruelty-Free by PETA’s Caring Consumer program. They are
also proud members of the Indie Beauty Network.
The company also believes in conservation of natural
resources, and has taken many steps into "going green," such as
recycling of office/packing supplies, recycled and recyclable packaging.
Saphoros also does not rely on heavy, energy-consuming machinery. All
products are hand-mixed, filled, packaged and labeled by human hands.
The Research and Development team is constantly working to
spot new trends in cosmetics and pouring through clinical trials and research on
safe and effective skincare ingredients in order to bring consumers new,
effective and innovative products. Saphoros’ philosophy is to provide safe and
effective products for each individual client, and never let them walk away with
a product they don’t need.
